This season where the bright sunshine is dazzling. The fresh and cool handsome men you want to go out together with. Multinational group from Korea, we asked the GOT7 members for recommendations for summer date ideas and episodes related to summer. Let’s spend a loveable summer together with GOT7 who is holding their Japan tour.

Who is GOT7?
A multinational group from JYP entertainment who debuted in January 2014. Despite the fact that the members are of various nationalities, they are known for their good team work. They also debuted in Japan in 2014 and achieved various rankings; “I WON’T LET YOU GO” that was released in January 2019, achieved first place on the Oricon Weekly Chart (for the week February 11). Last year, their world tour around 17 cities was completed with great success; this year too they are embarking on their biggest world tour ever.

JB
Born in 1994. The group’s reliable leader who gets everything in order. He also writes songs and lyrics and is one who has diverse talents.

Mark
Born in 1993 in the US. The contrast between his sweet looks and his visually pleasing and skilful dance moves is lovely. His own dress sense is fashionable too.

Jinyoung
Born in 1994. Lately he has been gaining attention promoting as an actor. As he is a firm and stable person, his existence is like a mother of the members.

Youngjae
Born in 1996. He has outstanding singing skills. He is one who laughs easily and is full of aegyo. He is humorous and is popular on variety shows.

BamBam
Born in 1997 in Thailand. He is lively and positive. He is the mood maker in the group (one who cheers up everyone)

Yugyeom
Born in 1997. The maknae who is the youngest in the group. He is known in the Kpop world as one who has great dance skills.

The theme of the new song is “We will definitely meet, this loop of destiny of ours”. What do you think is a destined love?

JB: Even if we get separately once, we will definitely meet again… I think such a person is the destined one whom I’m connected to with a thread.
JY: Because I think everything is accomplished through your own hard work, so I think even fate can be changed with your own hands, isn’t it?
YJ: Jinyoung hyung, you’re amazing!
MK: I totally have no idea…

Amongst the members, who is good at giving advice?

JY: It should be JB hyung right?
JB: No, every one of us is good at it.
MK: When we are troubled about something, we talk to the member who is next to us. After that we discuss with the rest of the members, so everyone is good at giving advice.

The exciting summer. When do you usually get filled with emotions/excited?

YJ: This very moment! I am excited getting interviewed.
BB: During the photoshoot I think. Everyone is messing around but during the shoot, everyone suddenly gets into a work mode and the expressions turn serious and we smile for the camera. At moments like this, we put in our feelings and it gets exciting.
JY: Isn’t it when BamBam goes shopping? (laughs)
JB: Because I’m one whose feelings swing about quite a bit, I think my mood gets heightened for about 20 times in a day (laughs)
YJ: Like bouncing/bopping around?
YG: Bouncing and bopping around
MK: For me it has to be when I’m having fun.
YG: I’m one who is just always high-spirited.
JY: For me… even when I’m really happy, I’m calm. Being in such a state is happiness for me. Is this my way of preserving my emotions? Yes, but it’s not something I do consciously, it turned out like that naturally. Perhaps it’s because my personality is not the type who thinks that a good thing is really that great or a bad thing is really that bad.

“A summer memory that makes your heart grip/flutter”?

MK: When I moved to Korea from the US, I was filled with burning emotions. It was because it was the time of our debut.
JB: When I’m sleeping at home, when my eyes open all of a sudden, there is the scent of summer and the chirping of the crickets… I think this is like a summer scene from the manga, it makes my heart flutter.
YG: When I enter the bath, my heart grips and it makes me happy! Eh? You don’t mean it in that way? (laughs)

Summer memories with the members?

YG: Because we are always holding concerts in summer, we don’t really have memories of us going out to have fun right?
MK: There was this time I went to the swimming pool with JB. At that time, Jinyoung was supposed to go with us, but he couldn’t make it so it was a pity he didn’t go with us.
YJ: There was this time I went to watch a horror movie with JB hyung!
JY: So this is what you were talking about during the separate interview just now! (laughs)

Spending summer in a passionate way is important! What must you do before that?
What do you plan to do in between your tour?

MK: I don’t have anything planned yet, but I want to go to the swimming pool.
YG: The plan is to have no plans.
JY: I want to make plans once it’s confirmed that we get days off.
JB: It often rains even during the summer right? I want to cook and eat ramen while listening to the sound of the rain.

You sound like a poet.

JB: Is that so? (laughs) I didn’t answer that while being sentimental though~ (blushes)

Recommendations on how to spend summer?

JB: Summer is a good season to go on a diet!
MK: How about going on a diet before the summer?
JB: Well, then please show off the results your diet during the summer holidays and have fun. The aim is to create passionate memories!
JY: There is the Japan tour.
JB: Please come if you suddenly remember it. While spending summer, please think about GOT7 from time to time.

Will you be showing your loveable side?

YG: Heart pounding pounding pounding
JB: Of course! You can count on us.

We asked all the members!

“If the readers of JJ want to go on a date with someone they like”

JB

Q1: If they were to go on a date in Tokyo, what kind of date do you think would be good?
Because I’m a Korean, I don’t really know Tokyo well (laughs), I think in a way, not knowing where to go, searching for spots with good atmosphere seems nice too. I think it need not be a restaurant or an expensive place, but a place that is not too formal would be good.

Q2: If they were go on a date in Seoul, what kind of date do you think would be good?
For people from Japan going to Seoul, I think it would be nice to go to the famous places… Like Han River or Namsan. I would recommend them because the atmosphere is good!

Q3: What do you think would be good to wear on a date?
For instance, if you are one who likes the rock-style usually, I think it would be a mistake to try to wear something very feminine. I think it would be good to go with your usual style.

Q4: What make-up and hair do you think would be good?
Natural. A hair and make-up that makes you look cute.

Q5: If they were to watch a movie or DVD, what kind of film would be good?
Horror films. It’s a great chance to jump into the arms of the guy! (laughs) When you watch it with your girl friends, you will probably scream “Gya—!”, but when a guy is around, please say “Gya—“ in a cute way (laughs).

Jinyoung

Q1: If they were to go on a date in Tokyo, what kind of date do you think would be good?
In Tokyo, you don’t have to go to any place special, just walking along the various streets would be fun. I think just strolling along the streets casually is good!

Q2: If they were go on a date in Seoul, what kind of date do you think would be good?
Because it’s the summer, it has to be the Han River, or how about going to somewhere near the sea away from Seoul? Sokcho or Jeju Island are nice, and staying over at a bed and breakfast is good too.

Q3: What do you think would be good to wear on a date?
I think just wearing a white t-shirt with jeans is cute. Don’t dress up too much, even though you care about what you wear but do it in such a way where the other person doesn’t notice it, isn’t that good?

Q4: What make-up and hair do you think would be good?
Don’t overdo it, I think a casual look where it’s like “I want to look cute but actually I don’t really care” would be good.

Q5: If they were to watch a movie or DVD, what kind of film would be good?
Movie or skinship, which is more important I wonder (laughs) Perhaps a thriller or a totally romantic film. Because when you watch a romance film, it gives you the illusion that your heart is fluttering. But if the male lead is too good looking, it’ll be NG if you end up having to wake up from your dream (laughs).

Youngjae

Q1: If they were to go on a date in Tokyo, what kind of date do you think would be good?
Because it’s summer now, how about going to have ice cream? Go shopping while eating ice cream.

Q2: If they were go on a date in Seoul, what kind of date do you think would be good?
I’ll recommend ice cream even for Seoul (laughs). If it’s a date, I think the atmosphere in Itaewon or N Seoul Tower is good.

Q3: What do you think would be good to wear on a date?
A short sleeve white top and a denim skirt. And a cute bracelet. A thin bracelet would be good I think. If it’s too thick, it attracts his attention and he won’t be looking at your cute face. It’s important that it’s a thin one (seriously)

Q4: What make-up and hair do you think would be good?
Because your make-up wears off easily in the summer, I think it would be good to be as natural as possible so you won’t have to be bothered by it.

Q5: If they were to watch a movie or DVD, what kind of film would be good?
There is this horror movie “Gonjiam: Haunted Asylum”, it’s really scary so I’ll recommend it. And “Get Out”. I watched it with JB hyung, but it was so scary I covered my face watched it through my fingers (laughs).

Mark

Q1: If they were to go on a date in Tokyo, what kind of date do you think would be good?
First of all, I don’t really know Tokyo very well (laughs). But I think it’s more important to go to places that girls like to go to and do the things that girls like to do.

Q2: If they were go on a date in Seoul, what kind of date do you think would be good?
I saw it on TV the other day, going out on a camping car seems really fun. You can eat in the car, watch tv… I think this is nice!

Q3: What do you think would be good to wear on a date?
I think t shirt with jeans would be good.

Q4: What make-up and hair do you think would be good?
I think the hair and make up that suit yourself would be good.

Q5: If they were to watch a movie or DVD, what kind of film would be good?
I like horror films. The title? I don’t really remember movie titles so… Please give me some time (goes silent for a while). I recalled it! “Annabelle Comes Home” and “IT” were interesting.

BamBam

Q1: If they were to go on a date in Tokyo, what kind of date do you think would be good?
I think it’s important to have good food. How about, have a light lunch, walk around the streets and do some shopping, and go and have sushi?

Q2: If they were go on a date in Seoul, what kind of date do you think would be good?
Have good food at home, and go out at night. You don’t have to do anything especially extravagant, just normal day-to-day things would be good. I want to stroll along the Han River and eat delicious Korean food. If it’s for now, I’ll recommend patbingsoo and Korean cold noodles.

Q3: What do you think would be good to wear on a date?
Instead on focusing too much on the clothes, I think JJ readers know what kind of clothes suit them… so I think it’s good to just wear those.

Q4: What make-up and hair do you think would be good?
For make-up, instead of thick make-up, I think it’s better to wear light make-up.

Q5: If they were to watch a movie or DVD, what kind of film would be good?
Because I can’t really watch horror movies, perhaps the more talked about films at the moment. Disney movies or thrillers are good too. I’ll recommend movies like “Your Name”.

Yugyeom

Q1: If they were to go on a date in Tokyo, what kind of date do you think would be good?
Because there are lots of good food in Tokyo, I think it’s best to visit the shops the serve delicious food. Tonkatsu is good, omurice and ramen too. I want to eat those now!

Q2: If they were go on a date in Seoul, what kind of date do you think would be good?
Go for a stroll and eat. Speaking about food in Seoul then it’s samgyupsal (grilled pork belly) and samgyupsal (laughs). Ah, for summer then it’s Korean cold noodles!

Q3: What do you think would be good to wear on a date?
I think something that suits the person would be good. The style that you like and something simple.

Q4: What make-up and hair do you think would be good?
Something that suits the weather. When the weather is bad, wear something basic and make-up with subdued colours, and do away with eyeliner. On days where the weather is fair, wear pink or bright colours, and have make-up that are sparkly.

Q5: If they were to watch a movie or DVD, what kind of film would be good?
I don’t really like movies that are too deep, I like those light-hearted ones that you can watch with a relaxed mood. “Avengers: Endgame” and “Black Panther” were interesting.

They answered noisily in units!

If they were to advise readers on their worries about going on a date…

[Worries]

Q1: After dating once, he doesn’t contact me anymore… (cries). What should I do?
Q2: I want to confess my feelings at the next date. What kind of confession do you think is good?
Q3: During a date, what should I do to make the guy’s heart flutter?
Q4: Please tell us each other’s TMI secretly!

JB X Jinyoung

JB: For Q2, I think you should confess directly by saying “I like you”.
JY: That’s right. For confession, there’s no need to do anything special. I think you should just show him your true feelings!
JB: To make it more dramatic, how about making a reservation at a restaurant with a beautiful night view and then confess your feelings by saying “I like you”?
JY: From a girl to a guy?
JB: Ah, I made a mistake by thinking about the situation where the guy confesses to the girl.
JY: Eh~ JB hyung does confession like that! (laughs)
JB: It’s not like that, it’s just my imagination (blushes). For Q3, for example during a normal conversation, you suddenly joke around with a lot of aegyo, I think the guy will find it cute.
JY: While talking, look the guy in the eye and smile! For Q4, this morning, JB hyung was the third amongst the member to finish getting ready.
JB: Jinyoung finished off a bowl of gomtang (beef bone soup) this morning.

Youngjae X Yugyeom

YJ: For Q1, try contacting him once more, and if his response is still lacking, I think you should stop seeing him as soon as possible. There are many other guys in this world!
YG: I agree. For Q2, I think it’s better if you don’t think too much and just convey your feelings directly.
YJ: I think the same way too.
YG: For Q3, right in the middle of the date, you suddenly link your arm with his and hold his hand in a cute way, I think the guy’s heart will certainly flutter.
YJ: How about a sudden hug. Be it a hug from the front or the back, the guy’s heart will flutter for sure. For Q4… hmmm… Yugyeom grown a wisdom tooth recently (laughs).
YG: Youngjae stepped into a shop thinking that it was Korean cuisine shop and it turned out to be a Gyudon shop!
YJ: It was not my mistake, it was the mistake of the staff who went together (laughs). But the Yakitori of that shop was delicious!

Mark X BamBam

BB: For Q1, it doesn’t have to be the guy who initiates the contact, I think it’s ok for the girl to do it too.
MK: From the guy’s point of view, he could be waiting for the girl to contact him. If he doesn’t contact you, I think you can contact him.
MK: Then for Q2. I think the guy would be happy if you just tell him that you like him without thinking too much.
BB: I think it’s quite different when you are confess thinking “he may be interested in me too?”, and when you confess not knowing how he feels about you. Perhaps you should decide depending on the situation? Ok for Q3, if the feeling is mutual, hold his hand all of a sudden.
MK: (laughs). If the feeling is mutual, wouldn’t they be happy no matter what they do? As for Q4, BamBam ate tonkotsu ramen yesterday.
BB: Yesterday, Mark brought a new bag when he came to Japan. It was a boston bag meant for travel!
